Only one goal in his opening ten top-flight appearances this season had many questioning whether Dominic Calvert-Lewin's best days were in the past.

But, a only four weeks afterwards, he has become the most discussed attacker in England following netting 7 goals in six consecutive games.

A Remarkable Return to Form

The 28-year-old signed for Leeds United on a Bosman move in the summer, after a nine-year period with Everton that was blighted by injuries in its closing stages.

However, the data behind his revival in Daniel Farke's new counter-attacking 3-5-2 setup are truly remarkable.

His six-game scoring streak places him in exclusive company as just the 11th English player to score in six or more successive Premier League outings.

To provide context, even England captain Harry Kane did not achieve a run of this length - his longest remains two individual five-match streaks.

And the sole English striker to surpass Calvert-Lewin in recent memory is Jamie Vardy, who produced an eight-game scoring spree for Leicester City in 2019.

The Secret to the Purple Patch?

Why has Calvert-Lewin so difficult to stop in recent weeks? A previous opponent's manager explained it aptly.
