Crowds also occupied nearby roads and attempted to breach the government complex, where the administration had first arranged the public viewing.

National Legacy and Community Devotion

Though mainly known as an opposition figure, Odinga assumed the role of prime minister in 2008 and also established a political pact with the leader last year in a political journey marked by shifting alliances.

He inspired intense commitment among followers, particularly in his cultural background based in western Kenya, many of whom believe he was denied the presidency by election irregularities.

Many of Odinga's followers, who were unborn in 1991 when Kenya transitioned to a multi-faction governance, expressed respect to Odinga's efforts as an advocate.
